About Us

MY JEWELRY journey

When I was a teenager, my mother introduced me to the wonderful world of jewelry. She showed me how to take these colorful tri-sided beads (you remember them from the 70’s), some nylon cord, and a clasp and make my own “cool” necklaces and bracelets. It was great bonding time with mom also.

Recently, I went shopping for outfits for work and couldn’t find any jewelry I liked to go with them. So off I went to my local craft store to see about making my own. Well….my mind was overwhelmed by all the colors, sizes, styles, and types of beads! How could I choose just a few? I must have spent 2 hours that day looking and comparing colors together. What kind of clasp? Jump ring sizes? Do I string them on wire, cord, nylon?

So I started purchasing small quantities of different materials and started making a few necklaces to go with my work outfits. The women at work would say “Oh, I like your necklace, that’s pretty”. Me: “I made it to match this outfit”. “Wow!”

And that’s how I started this journey.

THE PEN JOURNEY

Throughout my life woodworking has been one of my hobbies. In my early twenties I purchased a wood lathe and taught myself how to turn.  I started out making spindles and soon graduated to bowls, I became pretty proficient at making both but needed a further challenge.

A friend of mine was making pens and they were beautiful.  I became interested in making pens and other smaller more precise items, but my lathe wasn't precise enough to produce these smaller pieces..

I decided to get a smaller more precise lathe and began producing pens. At first I made them for myself then as gifts for family and friends.  Soon word spread and people wanted to buy them.  I now handcraft pens and other items from a variety of materials ranging from exotic hardwoods to antler, acrylic and even stone.  Along with our online store we can be found at various crafts shows.   Check our  calendar on the "Events" page for our schedule of shows..
